What is Techfest Albania?

Techfest Albania is a coding contest for the developer community in Albania. It is a 24-hour coding competition where you compete to solve algorithmic problems. The contest is organized by Engage Technology, WKÖ and ABA.

Who can participate?

We invite everybody to participate. To register for the trip to Austria you need to be older than 18 years and live in Albania, Kosovo or North Macedonia. You can participate as an individual or as a team, the winners will be individual people.

Additionally you will need a passport that is valid for at least 7 months after the event.

How will you select the winners?

The winners of the online competition will be determined by the following logic:

Everybody who is participating in the current 3 levels, has a chance to win a trip to Austria. (10 people will be selected this way)
On 28.10.2023 at 11:00 (CET) we will publish 10 new levels to solve, whoever is able to get most points until 15:00 wins a spot for the challenge, if that person cannot come (due to age or passport invalidity), the next person gets a chance. 15 people will be selected this way.
- The onsite event in Tirana will be start at 10:00 (the competition starts at 11:00 (CET) as well)
- the online event (all around) will start at 11:00 (CET)

If you join in Tirana, we will have extra seats you can win (5 people) the trip, so if you are on site the chances are little bit higher.

How many people can win?

We will select 30 winners for the trip to Austria.

What costs are covered if I win?

We will do our best to cover all costs for the trip to Austria. This includes the flight, the hostel to sleep in and the transportation in between. We will also cover the costs for food and drinks at the hackathon as well as the tickets for the food fair.

Some food, snacks and drinks along the way as well as the food cost in your free time you will have to cover yourself, but you can eat very cheaply in Austria.

Who is behind this coding contest?

This coding contest is organised by Engage Technology in cooperation with Austrian Business Agency and WKÖ.

What is the tourism technology festival?

The Tourism Technology festival is a 2-day hackathon in Salzburg where you will work on challenges in the Austrian tourism industry and learn about the latest technologies in an international developer setting. You will also have the chance to participate in the hackathon and win prizes.
